A Church for Atinzam

In the year 2010, His Grace Joseph Befe Ateba, then bishop of Kribi erected a new parish in his diocese: Our Lady of Hope of Atinzam. His dream was to reduce the sufferings of the christians of that locality who had to walk long distances (sometimes 5 to 10 km) in order to attend the Holy Mass on Sunday. Because there, a church is not a luxury, but a place where mostly poor people come together to relieve the pains of their daily life listening to the comforting words of Jesus. Unfortunately, the dream never came true. In 2014, His Grace Joseph was abruptly taken away by a very aggressive form cancer and with his demise, the project of drawing near Christ to the people of Atinzam vanished. By divine providence, the project has recently resurfaced and the christians of Atinzam with their bishop and their parish priest are gathering the efforts to build a simple but worthy place to worship the Lord. Their poverty is certainly an obstacle, but with their hard work, good will and your help, they can overcome the difficulties and finally find a place of communion with God not far from home.

Total cost of the Church: 173.000 € of which 17.890 € have already been raised.
