In memory of René Gaston

Fr René Gaston

On the evening of the 8th of April 2024, the Lord called back to Him our brother Fr René Gaston AYIHI TSIMI (31 years old). 

Fr Gaston was a priest of Obala diocese (Cameroon) who just arrived in Rome to continue his studies. At the end of January he was diagnosed with a liver cancer and underwent a surgery. Unfortunately the surgery and the later cure were not effective and Fr Gaston's health declined till his demise one day after the celebration of the Sunday of the divine Mercy. 

Throughout his illness, Fr Gaston remained very lucid, positive and altruistic. Out of this altruism and charity, he wanted as one of his last wishes that a well be dug in his home village so that people can have access to potable water. In memory of our brother and friend, we have therefore decided to launch this project whose completion will be in August-September. The total cost of the well will be 7000€. 

We wholeheartedly thank those who have already adhered to the project with their contributions and initiatives. The sum already collected amounts to 5310€.
