Sincere gratitude to ENG for the generous donation of 2000 USD to support the efforts of the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem in assisting the refugees of the war. 

Merry Christmas/Joyeux Noël/Santo Natale

After many days of preparation and many resolutions taken, today we celebrate the most sublime manifestation of our Lord: the birth of a child in a stable. 

We ask the prince of justice and peace born tonight to dwell in our hearts wounded by the many tragedies in the world and most especially the one unfolding in the land where, more than 2000 years ago, the Nativity took place. 

To you all who have been working for a better tomorrow for all those in need, I wish a Blessed Christmas/Joyeux Noël/Santo Natale.

 

Acknowledgement

The MCs sisters (Missionaries of Charity) in Jerusalem were granted 300 USD for their community in Gaza whose house has been struck by a rocket on the 16th Dec. The sisters and the 54 handicapped people were displaced to the nearby Latin parish Church. 

We continue to pray for justice and peace in the Holy Land as the coming of our Savior that we celebrate on the 25th is at hand.

Advent / Avent / Avvento 2023

Today we begin our preparation to Christmas with the celebration of the 1st Sunday of Advent which is also the beginning of our liturgical year (B). Advent has a short and a long term horizon: we prepare ourselves to welcome Baby Jesus (Nativity) and we look forward to our encounter with Christ the judge coming at the end of times.

Let us therefore "WATCH" and "BE READY" to encounter the Lord coming in the vulnerable figure of a Baby and in the judge coming with splendour and might.
