Telle est l'invitation qui nous est adressée en ce début de temps de Carême. 

Que ce temps pendant lequel nous prenons acte de notre fragilité parce que nous sommes poussière, devienne une opportunité pour redécouvrir le visage de Dieu en nous parce que nous sommes créés à Son Image.

Mise à jour sur l'assistance à la Syrie

Les frères franciscains de la Custodie continuent de porter assistance aux victimes du tremblement de terre en Syrie.

The rest of "Les amis de l'île Maurice" and Fr Ephriam Lam group's donations (respectively 200€ and USD 150) were successfully transferred for the sponsorship of 2 orphans (see blogs of 23/12/2022 and 26/01/2023): Ngah Geneviève Daniella and Ottou Pierre Clavaire.

For the victims of the earthquake

3 days ago, Syria and Turkey were severely struck by a violent and devastating earthquake. As a result, many people lost their lives and those who survived lost everything. The Franciscan friars in Syria whose convent and church were also damaged are now using part of the remaining rooms as shelters for the victims while also providing for their primary needs. 

You can make a difference with your donations and prayers.

Your prayers

Dear friends, 

for some time now, our christian communities in the Holy Land have been the target of some hostile and vile attacks. 

This very morning again, around 8:30, one of the chapels in the Franciscan Convent of the Flagellation where I live (the Chapel of the Condemnation that some of you have visited) was ruthlessly vandalized. And this shocking act is just the last of a long series. 

You have supported us many times with your generosity and your donations, this time we kindly ask you to support and accompany us with your prayers. 

May the Lord who gives us strength to endure persecutions appease the resentment and hatred against Him and his communities and kindle in those who attack Him and us a spirit of love and mutual respect.
